Lime Bark Day
This day course looks at the remarkable uses of the Lime tree with particular reference to the bark. You will learn how to work with the bark at the time of year that it can be separated from the wood, with a little bit of know how, in order to make to make some outstanding containers of various sizes. You will also work with the retted bark and create some amazing lengths of string/rope learning about how useful this has been throughout European history. On top of this you will also spend time making a simple matt or basket using strips of the bark gathered during the day. 9.30am to 4.30pm

This one day, IOL approved course is aimed at giving you real confidence, competence and detailed understanding about using knives and saws with reference to passing it on to others. You will be shown various techniques suitable for different age groups/abilities/tasks and gain understanding of the thinking behind this. You will also look at different knives which can make a significant difference as well as choosing wood that is suitable or ideal for tasks/clients. Time is also spent on maintenance of tools and the Law. By the end of the course you will have created a wide range of very useful products and gained plenty of know how along the way.

Wild Food and Wilderness Cookery
